Chevy Sales Staff

Runde Chevrolet Sales Staff Runde Chevrolet is the mainframe for all of Runde Auto Group. The majority of our business employees work out of that store, and they have a pretty good size sales staff. These guys are very knowledgeable, and have a real passion for cars and the people they work with. They can be reached during normal office hours at (800) 947-8633. Sales Manager John Riley John lives in Dubuque with his wife, Mari Lea. They have a son, Taylor, at the University of Iowa working on his CPA, and a daughter, Brooke, at Kirkwood Community College in Cedar Rapids. He enjoys golf, working, and spending time with his family. He is an intelligent Iowa fan, but seems to be lacking in the baseball and football spectrum, liking the Scrubs and DAAA Bears. He drives a Monte Carlo, and has worked at Runde's for about 8 years. Tom Sladky Tom has been working for Runde's for about 2 years. He lives in Dubuque and he enjoys skiing, golfing, basketball, bowling, as well as chess and cribbage. He claims himself as an only child, and is an avid Chicago sports fan: Cubs, Bulls, and Blackhawks. He threw me for a loop when he said he's currently a GB Packers fan. He drives a Jeep Grand Cherokee. He said that he's thinking about becoming a Vikings fan now that Brett Favre plays for them. Rob Sheehan Rob lives in East Dubuque with his wife Amy. They were married in June of 2009. He enjoys working outside, doing home improvements, and boating. He cruises around in a Chevrolet Impala, and has been working at Runde's for about 4 years. Dave Frazier Dave has been employed at Runde's for 3 years. He lives with his better half Amber, their 3 year-old daughter, their and one year old son. He enjoys hunting and fishing. He doesn't really have a favorite team, but he does like 'The Winner', so the Cubbies and Brewers aren't at the top of his list these days! He drives a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Crew Cab. Matt Meyer Matt lives with his wife, Nicole, and their daughter, Montana (10) and son, Maverick (7). He enjoys riding his motorcycle and racing and he is also an avid Chicago Bears fan. He is one of our senior salesmen and has worked at Runde Chevrolet for about 11 years. Mark Fleege Mark is well-known in the Tri-State area and most people who either know him or know of him call him Flop. Mark enjoys spending time with his girlfriend and playing golf. He likes the Green Bay Packers and the Pittsburgh Pirates. He drives a Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and has worked at Runde's for about 22 years. He can't wait to see Brett Favre fail miserably playing for the Vikings this season. Wayne Konrardy Wayne has been happily married to his wife, Mary, for 42 years. Their sons, John and Jim, live in Dubuque. Wayne also has 4 grandchildren. He loves spending time with his family, especially the grandkids, and also plays golf. He was a very happy man watching his Dodgers in the playoffs, and he also likes Notre Dame Fight Irish football. Wayne and Charlie Weiss have something in common: They both spent this fall rehabbing their injuries (Wayne's shoulder and Charlie's knee). He's a Chevy man, driving an HHR and an Impala nd he has been with Runde's for about 11 years. Eric Schmitt Eric is originally from Dubuque and recently joined our sales staff. He and his wife currently live in the local vicinity and enjoy eating out on weekends at various supper clubs in and around the Tri-State area. Big News From Chrysler

Chrylser Combines Employee Pricing with Rebates & 0% We've been in the car business for a long time and our salesmen must have heard at least a hundred times each from customers, "Call me back when they come out with 0% and rebates together. " It wasn't necessarily what we wanted to hear from a customer, but it's understandable that customers want to get the best deal possible even though we thought that were waiting for the impossible to occur. No American manufacturer has ever allowed customers to use 0% financing in combination with manufacturer rebates. Customers had to choose one or the other, but they couldn't get both ... until now. Now new vehicle customers can receive the employee price on all '08 and '09 Chrysler, Jeep, and Dodge vehicles (with the exception of the Dodge Sprinter). GM recently unveiled the production version of the 2010 Camaro. Many reporters and consumers expressed their amazement of how true the production model is to the concept. They were also amazed to learn about the technology, safety and performance features included in the Camaro, the new definition of the 21st Century Sports Car.

All of our employees have different goals for themselves, and this is a good way for our customers to get to know them on a little 'deeper' level. It was also good to make them think a little bit...I think I caught them off guard!

How Healthy Are Your Favorite Restaurants?

We have reached the middle of summer, the time of year everyone is spending time on the river or in the pool. I know a few people at Runde are starting diets or have been on them for a while. Chris Anderson and Dave Wordehoff started the Atkins diet a couple weeks ago, and Chris said he feels like it is working for him.

Summer is also a very busy time for people, and eating out can become a habit. What most people don't realize is that one meal at a chain restaurant can account for a whole day's calories. They are not required to inform the public of the nutritional facts of their menus, so they make it a goal to not let us find out.

David Zinczenco, editor-in-chief of Men's Health and author of "Eat This, Not That" has done extensive research on chain restaurants and what those delicious recipes actually include ... both ingredients and calories.

He released his book in December of 2007. Since then it has become a bestseller, and has had an impact on some restaurants and at least one city.

New York City passed a law requiring restaurants to post their nutritional facts either online or in their menus. A few chains have adapted and posted their infortmation, while others have boycotted and do not have restaurants in the NYC area in order to bypass the law.

Restaurants are beginning to make food better for us, but there is still a long way to go. Maybe states should start passing laws like New York City, so consumers will be more aware of what they are eating and be able to make a more knowledgable decision. We deserve to know what we are eating, and I think restaurant chains should do a better job of making their menu healthier for those eating there.

Chevy Introduces The Silverado Hybrid

Chevrolet will release the Silverado Hybrid late in the fall of 2008 (in limited quantities). It has a two-mode engine, allowing for 5 power combinations. The first mode can work in 3 ways: electric, engine power, or a mixture of the two. These are used in low speed, light load conditions for optimal fuel efficiency. The second mode is used for highway speeds, allowing the truck the capacity to run in either a four-cylinder or eight-cylinder modes. They offer the ability to tow or handle rough conditions. This engine allows for 40% more efficienct city driving and 25% more efficient highway driving.

The truck has all the available options as the other Silverados, but a new fuel efficiency gage is available in the hybrid. It tells you if the truck is operating at the optimum level.

Meet A Recent Customer of Runde Ford in Manchester!!

One of Don "Krunch" Kronlage's customers was nice enough to talk with me for a couple minutes while his vehicle was getting ready to take home.

Runde Auto Chat: What did you like most about the process and how business was conducted here at Runde?

Frank Riese: It was simple, and Don was thorough in answering all my questions.

RAC: What kind of vehicle did you buy? Were there any options or features that you were specifically looking for?

FR: I bought a Chevy 2500 truck. I wanted a good used truck with just the basic options.

RAC: What purpose is this vehicle going to serve: busienss, family travel, etc.?

FR: It will be used for both family and business.

RAC: Do you have any children or grandchildren?

FR: I have 3 children and 6 grandchildren. (A couple of them were with him when he picked up the truck)

RAC: Do you live near Manchester? And what do you do for a living?

FR: I live in Hopkinton (about 10 miles south of Manchester), and I'm a farmer.

RAC: How often do you purchase new vehicles?

FR: Just when needed, and hopefully that isn't for a while now.

RAC: Overall, did you have a pleasant experience at Runde?

FR: Yeah, I was very pleased with everything.
